Jon Ray (Superintendent)

Based in Humboldt County, Jon Ray guides the Klamath-Trinity Joint Unified School District as superintendent. He has overseen initiatives that enhanced student achievements and enabled them to overcome life challenges. One of Jon Ray’s defining accomplishments as superintendent has been initiating a Morning Sing assembly that brings together parents and members of the community to recognize student accomplishments. Highlighting positives, the well-attended weekly events involve laughing, singing, and dancing to create a shared sense of purpose.

Mr. Ray also has an extensive background as school principal. He guided Madison Elementary School in the Rio Linda Union School District from 2005 to 2006. As principal, he created school leadership teams and increased proficiency in subjects such as math and English learning. He also set in place an effective behavior management system within the school’s classrooms.

An avid runner, Mr. Ray traverses around 16 miles each week and completes in marathon events. Traveling frequently throughout California on work-related assignments, he is also a world traveler who enjoys destinations such as Greece, Turkey, and Switzerland.
