Cleve Shirey

Cleve Shirey, MD, serves as a staff psychiatrist at the Sierra Tucson clinic in Tucson, Arizona, and belongs to the Neuroscience Education Institute. Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, he has over 25 years of experience in medicine and psychiatry. Dr. Cleve Shirey accepted his first position in the field in 1994 as a medical director for the Alaska Psychiatric Institute, where he treated adult patients in the acute and chronic care units. Later in his career, he accepted a position with the Advanced Pain Centers of Alaska as a consulting psychiatrist. Before his move to Arizona in 2009, he also founded the Meridian Consulting Group and provided comprehensive psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, and consultation services to patients throughout Alaska.

Over the course of his career, Cleve Shirey, MD, has established affiliations with academic institutions that include the University of Alaska School of Nursing, the University of Arizona College of Medicine, and the Alaska Family Practice Residency. In addition, Dr. Shirey has delivered numerous presentations on various psychiatric issues at conferences throughout the country. He has presented on topics including Alzheimer's disease, human sexuality, depression, and chronic pain treatment.
