Deena Williamson began her career as an attorney working with Summers & Jones PC, an Atlanta law firm. There, she built experience drafting and negotiating a broad array of corporate documents, and was involved with mergers and acquisitions. In 1993, Deena Williamson moved to MCI Telecommunications Corp., where she was part of a team responsible for negotiating global contracts for international sales.
Moving to Denver in 1995, Deena Williamson served as senior deputy general counsel for Qwest Communications, where she led a team of 25 legal professionals and negotiated complex business development deals on behalf of the $3 billion dollar company. Over her time with Qwest, her performance earned her multiple awards.
In 2000, Ms. Williamson moved to the Washington, DC area, serving as deputy general counsel and vice president of Net2000 Communications before leaving to start her own law firm, Williamson & Gilbreath. Over her two years there, she built her firm drawing on her expertise in the areas of technology, software, data security and intellectual property.
Recruited by Savvis, Inc., Ms. Williamson served as deputy general counsel, and then as general counsel for the 2,000-employee data hosting and outsourcing corporation. During this time, she was named a finalist for In-House Counsel of the Year, and was selected to attend the President's Club for her outstanding legal work. Leaving Savvis in 2007, she became general counsel and senior vice president of legal affairs for Williams Lea, a business processes, outsourcing corporation. She is currently the general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary of IBEX Global.
