Steve Carlson, Former President of FMC

A health care executive with more than 15 years of experience in senior leadership roles, Steve Carlson managed Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC) in Flagstaff, Arizona, for nearly a decade. Under Carlson's leadership, FMC completed a $150 million expansion of the FMC campus. Currently, Steve Carlson offers his executive experience in support of hospitals and other health care clients at SGC HC Consulting, a firm in Missoula, Montana.


Throughout his career, Steve Carlson has remained active in the nonprofit world, serving as a board member of United Way of Missoula County, the Montana Independent Health Alliance, and the Montana Hospital Association. Presently, he volunteers as an outplacement advisor with the Poverello Center, a group that supports the homeless.


Carlson's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from the St. John's University, Collegeville, Minnesota and a Master's of Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Carlson served as Class President during his time at the University of Minnesota.
