Mike Sagman

Dr. Mike Sagman is the creator and managing editor of The Dog Food Advisor, a popular website that reviews and rates commercial dog food products. The site is owned and operated by Clicks and Traffic, LLC, a Virginia-based company of which Dr. Mike Sagman is the president and CEO.

The site was inspired by the tragic story of Penny, a shelter dog Dr. Sagman adopted after seeing her featured in a local TV news story involving animal abuse. In 2007, Penny became ill and died as a result of consuming contaminated pet food. More than 100 pet food brands were implicated in the subsequent recall.

Dr. Mike Sagman founded the Dog Food Advisor in 2008. His goal was to review and rate commercial pet food brands to help consumers make more informed decisions about what to feed their dogs. The Dog Food Advisor website has reviewed and rated over 1,000 pet foods and is ranked in the top position for its niche by website traffic analytics firm Alexa.com, an Amazon company.
