We are seeking an experienced Senior Marketing Director of UA + Ad Media, who brings a deep expertise in building a world-class growth organization. You will take a meaningful leadership role to advise on Niantic’s user acquisition and brand / reach advertising strategies. As the Senior Marketing Director of UA + Ad Media, you will be responsible for collaboration between UA and brand / reach ad media, increasing the return on our entire marketing budget across our mobile games portfolio. Responsibilities

  • Lead the UA + Ad Media team to drive product awareness and interest, acquisition of new users, and overall product engagement, helping the company achieve it’s key business objectives engagement and reach company/product targets.

  • Mentor and nurture the Paid Ad Media team with a culture of inclusion and collaboration, while building the best in-class practices across growth fields.

  • Advise on strategy and goals for all user acquisition campaigns and other paid advertising media (eg, brand / reach / ATL media) investments to increase performance

  • Identify the situations and moments where the use of brand / reach / ATL (above-the-line) advertising media should be used to help up-level a key product tentpole, feature launch, and/or in-game live op moment.

  • Build trustworthy partnerships with cross-functional leaders to optimize marketing technology stack and related operations, including marketing automation, attribution and analytics.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, including regular and reliable attendance and participation in meetings.

  • Required in-office 2 days on Monday and Wednesday.

Qualifications

  • 14+ years of marketing experience with a focus on user acquisition data-driven marketing and brand / reach advertising media experience.

  • Experience leading performance marketing teams of 5+ individuals.

  • Experience managing an overall marketing budget of $50 million or more, with focus on advertising media and production/creative efforts.

  • Successfully built and shaped the planning and execution of complex, data-driven marketing programs including A/B experimentation, multi-touch attribution modeling and causality testing.

  • Deep analytics background with data-driven decision making within imperfect or incomplete information environments.

  • Solid understanding of and experience in managing ATL (above-the-line) ad media campaigns and the role they play in driving user awareness and interest, especially when used in conjunction with UA media campaigns.

  • Expert in mobile attribution methods and platforms (e.g: Adjust/Kochava/Appsflyer).

  • Deep knowledge of paid mobile ad media channels (e.g. Facebook Ad Manager, Google AdWords, TikTok, etc) for use in both new user acquisition and re-targeting lapsed user cohorts.

  • Strong knowledge of Apple privacy framework along with Google privacy sandbox.

  • Demonstrated strong cross-functional communication and analytical skills to improve revenue prediction models and key performance indicators.

  • Familiarity with ASO and industry standards to improve conversion rates.

  • Strong leadership presence and ability to lead directly and through influencing executive leadership to drive execution of a strategy in a fast moving global organization.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.

  • Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.

  • Passion for technology and entertainment, especially for Niantic’s products.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.

Plus if…

  • Mobile user acquisition experience is a requirement.

  • Brand marketing / media experience.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience a plus (esp. in Business Administration).

  • Proficiency with data tools (e.g: Tableau/Looker).

The total compensation package for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $207,000 - $230,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

Individual pay within this salary range is determined by work location and additional factors, including assessed job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
